I am a Doctor in International Relations and convinced of the power of academic education and the importance of human capital. Since January 2006, I have been a professor of economics at the Miami Business School of the University of Miami and director of the high-performance program, Global Business Studies, with an academic and professional orientation towards Latin America.

I defend the importance of academic, professional and technical education as fundamental pillars to improve the standard of living and economic growth of the countries. In my academic books, commentaries, and opinion columns, I place great emphasis on demonstrating the importance of education and of human capital human capital in succeeding in the complex job market of the 21st century..

My more than 10 years as a researcher, teacher and commentator have helped me in my analytical skills, public speaking and ability to present complex situations in a way accessible to the public.

Thanks to my academic and research career, I have had the honor of participating in numerous academic conferences and have published two academic books on the economic and political evolution of the European Union: The Euro in the 21st Century (Ashgate, 2010) and The European Union Decoded (Routledge, 2016).


My academic analyzes can be found in my collaborations in various media, such as in my analysis column in the newspaper Cinco Días in Spain and as a commentator on CNNe programs.
